Fixed-Cost, Easy Access Facilities
Sperry Rail International have agreed a partnership with MyTestTrack.com to use the whole line (14 kms) for a fixed price to test vehicles equipped with Sperry’s rail flaw detection systems.
Sperry Rail first used the MyTestTrack.com at Wirksworth in 2004 and since then a variety of rail-mounted vehicles have visited the line, ranging from road/railers through towed test cars to a new trolley being tested for customers as close as Network Rail and MetroNet and as far away as Indian Railways.
The partnership operates on a ‘turn-up and go’ basis with Sperry making use of the extensive yard facilities at Wirksworth to hold vehicles between testing and delivery to a customer. MyTestTrack have also acquired a main line-standard locomotive to ensure that vehicles can be tested under service conditions.
